Margot Kidder is a Canadian-American film actress who achieved fame playing Lois Lane in the Superman movies of the 1970s and 1980s. Kidder brought more depth to the role than previous actresses, portraying Lane as an ambitious and headstrong, yet vulnerable and emotionally lonely woman, trying to make it in a man's world.

Her other film credits include The Amityville Horror, Sisters, The Great Waldo Pepper and Black Christmas. She has sustained her career in film, television, and theatre, recently appearing in a Canadian stage production of The Vagina Monologues.

She has made guest appearances on many TV shows, including Smallville, The L Word, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Touched by an Angel, Boston Common, and most recently on ABC's hit drama series, Brothers & Sisters.
